Like so many other websites out there, In.trigued has gone through series after series of transformations, name changes, and countless hosts. In the mid 2003s, In.trigued first emerged into the world wide web as Puppy Love Designs. The name-- an inspiration for a twelve-year-old girl taking her first step into the webdesign world. It lasted about two days. My real start began when I discovered Jaa of Simplicated.net was closing her website. Hers was a website that I truly learned a lot from. She was offering her huge archive of tutorials for download. That's when Intrigued Tutorials was born. With a couple of friends, I made a few pages worth of premades along with other graphics and uploaded them onto the server... and voila! A resource website. Amazingly, it grew pretty big and lasted around 10 months, and at its peak hit 200 unique visitors per day. Needless to say, it was the pride of my young, teenage life.

As high school approached, I was forced to shut down the Intrigued Tutorials and turn it into a more personal place instead. Wanting a fresh new start (especially with high school right around the corner), I renamed it Quintessence, a name that was worth more than I had to show, and represented a part of my personality: ambitious, striving to be the best, to be perfect. Halfway through sophomore year, the workload caught up to me and I shut down the website for good, knowing I'd have no time to deal with it in the next two years of my life. By itself, it sat for two lonely years with a plain white page as its layout and the ever-attractive words: Revamp, brb! It wasn't until halfway through senior year before I even attempted to get it going again.

The root of my problems was mainly the layout. There was no inspiration on that aspect of design and I most definitely was behind on the fast-progressing language of hypertext markup. Laziness was a part of it too, but finally, with a bit of determination and the help of some new brushes, fun with the pen tool, and some much needed creativity, In.trigued is back up with a fresh new look! Hopefully, it'll be around for awhile. I'd like to make a statement and some room for myself on this great big cyberspace we call the world wide web. :)
